Do I have to pay for entry into Sea World to fly with Sea World Helicopters?

No, our main terminal is located outside the theme park at the western end of the car park next door to Sea World Whale Watch which can be accessed without an entry ticket into Sea World. We also operate an in-park helipad located on the western side of the ski lake next to the jellyfish enclosure, this in-park helipad will require guests to have a Sea World ticket.

Is there an age limit when flying with Sea World Helicopters?

No, there is no age limit when flying with Sea World Helicopters.

How many passengers can Sea World Helicopters carry?

Our aircraft can carry up to 6 passengers at a time, or if you have a larger group we can use multiple aircraft.

Can I take photos or video on the flight?

We offer an inflight Full HD video of your flight with unique camera angles including an outside camera on the rear stabiliser fin to capture stunning views of your flight. In-flight USBs are available for purchase in the extras section of our checkout or over the counter at the terminal.

Is there a minimum passenger limit to fly?

We require a minimum number of 5 passengers per flight, however, if you have only 1 or 2 passengers, we’ll match you up with another group. Otherwise, we offer Family packs where you get exclusive use of the helicopter which can accommodate up to 4 adults and up to 3 kids.

Are there weight limits for Sea World Helicopters?

Yes, Passengers weighing over 110 kilograms are subject to a Comfort Seat charge for each guest weighing 125 kilograms or more, an adjacent, empty seat purchase is required to safely balance the helicopter and the price of the comfort seat is reduced to 50% off the regular tour price.

Accurate passenger weights are critical for the safe operation of helicopters, please ensure that any supplied passengers’ weights are as accurate as possible. Sea World Helicopters are required by law to measure the weights of all passengers and any cargo that are transported on our helicopters before flight and mismatches between supplied and actual weights can lead to significant delays or non-refundable cancellations in some circumstances.

What times do Sea World Helicopters operate?

We are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm everyday and can accommodate flights outside of these times if required.

What happens if my flight is cancelled due to weather?

Although it is very rare, sometimes we do have to cancel a flight due weather. If this is the case, we can either reschedule your flight for you or refund your money.

Do I need to book in advance to fly?

We highly recommend you book your flight in advance however we can take bookings on the day based on availability.

Can I change the route of my scenic flight?

Flight paths can be varied if all passengers are happy to do so, or if you want to plan your own private scenic charter.

Can I fly if I am pregnant?

Yes, you may fly if you are pregnant however we recommend you speak to your doctor before flying.

Can I request to sit in the front seat?

Yes, you can request this, but it is not guaranteed due to weight restrictions and helicopter weight and balance calculations. The total weight of the two front seat passengers must be 160 kilograms maximum or less, Guests 2-14 years must be seated with an adult. Not available to <2 years old or guests needing assistance into the helicopter due to tight entry area. Staff will allocate seats under CASA regulation and pilot approval and supervision”
